[Grant probably heard Dimitri shuffling off to bother Felix in his room - Dimitri does his Very Best, but he is not often capable of complete stealth and silence. He's used to wearing plate. What can you do.]
[Grant might also have been aware, depending on how he paid attention to the groceries Sylvain brought in earlier in the day and how he kicked Felix out of their room for a bit, that Sylvain was definitely preparing a little Dimidate. The bags of cheese give it away.]
[And yet, those awkwardly quiet footsteps end up outside of his door, and Dimitri tries to keep his knocking as quiet as possible while still being. knocks.]
[Grant is faintly aware of the distant sounds of Awkward Boyfriend Shuffling, but he just leaves that in his periphery as he gets his Pokemon settled down for bed. He's glad that Sooty doesn't bark much, or he'd be worried about him waking Chip up as Grant tosses a plush ball for him to fetch, over and over. Puppies, man.
When he hears that gentle knocking at his own door, though, he gives the ball one last toss and stands up; within a couple seconds, he cracks the door open, the motion as careful and quiet as Dimitri's own knocking.] Hey - what's up?
Yeah, of course. [He slips through the door, just briefly double-checking that Sooty is occupied with his ball for the moment before he shuts it.] What's going on? You okay?
Yes. [Dimitri takes a deep breath, steadying his nerves.] I am very okay - I promise, Grant.
[And for a second - just a brief second, he doesn't want to inconvenience Grant by keeping him any longer than necessary - Dimitri just admires the man standing there in front of him. Something about him feels so comfortable, soft and secure in equal measure.]
You... are wonderful, Grant. [Reaching up, he brushes his palm along Grant's jawline, admiring the soft fuzz of his facial hair.] To be with someone so handsome and kind is incredible, to me.
I care for you dearly.
[And that's when he leans in, and, heart beating rapid fire in his chest, presses a soft tender kiss to Grant's lips.]
[He can relax a little, at least, at that assurance - and when Dimitri's hand brushes his jaw, and his heart jumps right back into his throat, it's a wholly different feeling.
He can already hardly process what Dimitri is saying-- or, well, he can, he knows Dimitri is complimenting him. But there's sort of a disconnect there, as always, like the words he's saying can't possibly apply to Grant, and hearing them sends giddiness and confusion both swirling and colliding in his head and chest.
Before he can sort any of that out enough to ask what brought this on, Dimitri kisses him, and all conscious thought stops short. He's not thinking about it when he lifts his hand to rest on the back of Dimitri's neck - too gently to hold him there, just twining his fingers in his hair - but it happens nonetheless, a woefully inadequate outward expression of the adoration overflowing in his chest.
The breath that Grant takes when Dimitri pulls away is a little deeper and shakier than he feels it should have to be, given how brief the kiss was, but the rapid pounding of his heart has other ideas.]
[Feeling those hands sliding through his hair, curling so easily, shoots down any of Dimitri's insecurities before they have a chance to get airborne. He sighs, eye threatening to flutter shut as he leans against Grant's hand. It takes a little bit of effort to keep them open, and look up at Grant.]
[Grant laughs softly, still somewhat breathless. God, this is ridiculous. It was just a kiss, and it's not like he hasn't gotten any of those recently.
Then again: It's also Dimitri. Dimitri, who's been so careful about every step of this relationship, as if worried that any given gesture of affection could be too much - a familiar enough concern for Grant. The fact that he's comfortable enough to do this speaks volumes about the progress he's made, and that thought on its own is enough to make Grant giddy with excitement and relief.]
It's-- it's more than alright. [He's still grinning, letting his fingers comb idly through Dimitri's hair; he's noticed how Dimitri leans into that, same as when he was leaning on Grant's shoulder when they first talked about expanding their relationship to include the others. He'll have to keep that in mind.
Yet more delight creeps into his expression as something occurs to him.] Is... this what you've been doing, going to our rooms?
[Or, you know, one room before now, but if he knows Dimitri he's guessing he won't stop until he's dropped in on every one of his boyfriends.]
[Again: Who let Dimitri be so cute, this man is going to be the death of Grant.
He nods slightly, still with that adoring smile, and brushes back a bit of Dimitri's hair with his thumb before turning Dimitri's face gently back toward him. And he leans in to kiss him again, for a bit longer this time, though it's still as gentle and chaste as before, in case Dimitri doesn't want to escalate beyond that.]
[Grant is still so comfortable, as soft and sturdy as all the times before where he's held Dimitri. It makes it easy to lean against him, let their breaths intermingle before their kiss seals such things completely. He raises one arm, resting it along Grant's shoulder, his neck, and sighs.]
[He rests his forehead on Dimitri's when they break contact again, after a brief shake of his head.] You shouldn't. It's normal to be worried about firsts - and you've been getting a lot of those recently. I'm just glad you're feeling better about it now.

I - Sylvain and I kissed, during our date! And I - it is only fair if I kiss all of you as well! I wanted to!
no subject
Good, I'm glad-- that's nothing to be embarrassed about, Dimitri, it's just really cute.

I - think that is good, then.
I apologize for disturbing you for something like this, but I did not want to forget.

I... would like that very much, Grant.

But... He was being so sweet. [It's possible to feel the heat from his face this close.] And he kissed my cheek.
