[He'd seen some of the video. Skimmed it. But the lack of denial apparently didn't register at the moment, or he'd missed it. Shiro's never been the kind of guy to pick up on signals... directed at himself.]

There's no way to guarantee that anyone - especially kids and Pokemon - will behave all the time; it doesn't mean you're failing.

[There's more he could say, on the topic of his personal feelings toward Shiro, but. Uh. He'll just... leave that where it is. Now is absolutely not the time.]

Hah yeah, yeah that's true. And that's I'm really relieved to hear that. I know you're not You're not the type of guy to be angry over something like this - but still, with everything that's been going on with us? I worry sometimes.

[Everything that's been going on with us. It's a pretty innocuous phrase, but somehow it makes Grant's heart jump all the same. He's quick to shake off that moment of... giddiness, anxiety, he hardly knows what-- the point is, it seems like Shiro really doesn't know how much is "going on with them".]

I understand getting stressed out with everything that's happened, but, yeah, I'm not mad. And need I remind you, a lot of what's gone on between us has already involved me assuring you of that very thing. ;)

[.....Y'know, when he typed that, he'd figured the winky face would be a good way to make sure Shiro knows he's joking, and is not scolding him for being worried that Grant might be mad at him. However, now that he's looking at the message he's already sent, Grant wishes he didn't know how to type, because boy that opens up new opportunities to embarrass himself. Okay, he can't just leave it like that--]

(Just pretend that made sense, since I can't actually wink.)

[That is not better.]

[There comes a silence.]

[He doesn't mean for it to happen, he really doesn't. Leaving Grant hanging is never his intention. Especially not in these kinds of talks.]

[There, he got something out. Just give him a minute. Finally, eventually, Shiro manages to finish typing out a more coherent reply:]

You got me really bad there for a minute. I... I think I needed that laugh worse than I knew.

[That's right - he was laughing at that horrible joke, Grant.]

[Okay, so there's a little bit of fretting going on during that wait period, but-- he doubts Shiro would be, y'know, mad about that, right?

...Though, Grant supposes it's possible he might be secondhand-embarrassed, which wouldn't be much better.

But then a message comes in. And then another. And Grant lets out a breath of relief, one that turns into a soft laugh from there. Of course. Of course, with Shiro's awful sense of humor, that would've actually gone over well.]

You're welcome. Maybe I should try to stumble through jokes more often, huh?

Yeah Yeah, please do. I'd like that.

[He really would. Laughter is the best thing, and let's be real, Shiro could use the relaxation now more than ever.]

I'll see what I can do. Though I may only be able to get a look at half the options.

...And apparently most of 'em are gonna be eye jokes. I might want to work on that.

Well, if they don't like it, they should lens us some feedback instead of getting sclera'd away.

You'd think they'd want to keep their sights on us, considering our jokes just get cornea and cornea.
